Known locally as the Travs, this is a friendly community local with a strong feeling of a country pub, from its rural location at the northern edge of the village. Inside is a snug public bar, surrounded by an l-shaped lounge and games area, all served from a central bar. It has several pictures of local miners and history on its stone walls.
A quiz is held on Wednesday Evenings. If visiting, please note, the pub is Cash only!
The pub is situated in a good area for walkers between the Baran and Gwrhyd mountains. Carn Llechart Stone Circle, Cwm Ddu Glen and the 1500 year old Llangiwg Church are worth visiting while in the area.
