Built in 1845 and recently renovated, the Brit established early on that they would be opening primarily as a "Real Ale" Pub serving food. It has a relaxed atmosphere with rustic, quirky surroundings. The owners renovated the pub themselves and with their eye for interior design and antiques there is something interesting wherever you look. The bar itself was made from the old doors and floorboards taken from upstairs during the renovation and there is a section of rail used to hold up the ceiling of the restaurant from "The Great Exhibition" at Crystal Palace in 1851. Four handpumps serve two ciders and two rotating real ales, usually from a Welsh regional brewery. Food is made on the premises with Pub Classics being served at lunchtimes and Tuesday evenings. Other evenings see a selection of A La Carte specials being served. On Sundays they serve a traditional Sunday Roast between 12-6pm, with a Sunday take away service advertised. There is a beautiful garden to the rear that looks over the river Afan and is a haven for anyone wanting a tranquil setting. Being a pub for all seasons there is also a hearty log fire for the colder months. They have acoustic music evenings every second Thursday, Live Music on Friday evenings and a popular quiz on a Sunday evening. Real Ale and Cider festivals are held every summer.
